Common Floor Scrubber Problems and What Causes Them
Most reported faults have a small number of likely causes. Checking these first often resolves the issue or gives a technician a head start.
Water left on the floor
- Worn, nicked or incorrectly adjusted squeegee blades
- Blocked vacuum hose or filter
- Full recovery tank or activated float shut-off
- Damaged tank lid seal reducing suction
Poor cleaning result
- Worn brushes or pads, or the wrong grade for the floor
- Insufficient solution flow
- Travel speed too high for the soil level
- Loose debris not removed before scrubbing
Short runtime
- Batteries not fully charged before the shift
- Ageing batteries approaching replacement
- Charging routine not matching the manufacturer's instructions
Unusual noise or vibration
Stop the machine and inspect. Debris caught in the brush deck, a damaged castor or a worn bearing are common causes, and continuing to run the machine usually makes the repair larger.
When to call for service
If the check does not resolve it, or the fault involves motors, electrics or the drive system, arrange a service rather than continuing to operate the machine.
