What it does not remove
Autonomous machines still need filling, emptying, charging and daily maintenance. Edges, corners, detail cleaning and obstacle-heavy areas remain operator work. Robotic cleaning redistributes labour rather than eliminating it.
Evaluating it properly
Assess autonomous equipment on the same basis as any other machine: purchase price, productivity actually achieved on your floor, consumables, maintenance, parts supply and support. A machine that cleans autonomously but cannot be serviced quickly is not a productivity gain.
