Where a walk-behind sweeper fits
Walk-behind and push sweepers are the practical answer for small to medium floors, congested areas and spaces where a ride-on machine is oversized — workshop bays, dock aprons, storage areas, car park entries and yard surfaces.
They are also used alongside larger equipment on big sites, covering perimeters, corners and areas closed to plant traffic.

Sweeper or scrubber?
Sweepers collect loose material — dust, grit, timber offcuts, shrink wrap and general debris. Scrubbers remove ground-in soil, spills and residue with water and detergent. Sites carrying both conditions normally sweep first, then scrub.
Selecting a machine

- Debris type and volume — fine dust, grit or bulky material
- Surface — smooth sealed concrete, coated floors or rough external hardstand
- Whether dust control matters for occupied or enclosed areas
- How often the hopper can practically be emptied

Maintenance and consumables
Sweeper productivity depends on brush condition, filter cleanliness and hopper emptying discipline. Main brooms, side brooms and filters are wear items and should be inspected on a set routine rather than replaced only on failure.

- Can a walk-behind sweeper be used outdoors?
- Sweepers are commonly used on hardstand, yards and car park entries. Tell us the surface and debris type and we will confirm which machine suits the conditions.
- Do I need a sweeper if I already have a scrubber?
- If loose debris is present, sweeping first protects the scrubber and produces a better result. Where floors only carry traffic soil, a scrubber alone is usually enough.
- Are brooms and filters available in Australia?
- Yes — main brooms, side brooms and filters are supplied through our parts service. Send your machine model and we will confirm the correct part.
